Ajkuna Dakli

Writer and Poet

Ajkuna Dakli was born in Elbasan in 1969 and pursued her higher education at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, specializing in Mathematics. In 2001, she relocated from Albania to Toronto, Canada, with her family, where she currently resides. Ajkuna works in the insurance sector but remains passionate about her literary pursuits and continues to write.

Her literary debut was in 2016 with the publication of a poetry collection titled "Rrokje" (Syllables) by Botart in Tirana. She followed this with her second book, a collection of stories titled "Çizme lëkure në kohë lufte" (Leather Boots in Wartime) published in 2020 by Onufri Publishing. In November 2023, Ajkuna released her third book, and her second foray into short prose, titled "Portrete pa kornizë." (Frameless portraits)

Despite her busy schedule and geographical distance from her homeland, Ajkuna maintains a strong presence online, actively engaging with her readers through social networks. She contributes various creative pieces and articles to the online press, including publications in the literary-cultural newspaper Ex Libris and magazines such as Peizazhe të fjalës, Defekt- teknik and Poeteka.
