Valbonë Ahmeti, born on October 8, 1973, in the scenic village of Dubofc, Drenica, is a poet whose journey spans continents. Growing up in the heart of Kosovo, she began her education at "Azem Bejta" school in her hometown and later attended "Muharrem Bekteshi" school in Vushtrri for her secondary education. Her passion for learning led her to pursue studies in Physics and Chemistry in Prishtina. After a period of working as a teacher in Vushtrri, she emigrated to Canada in 1999, where she built a new life and career as an educator in a primary school.
Valbonë’s creative expression found its voice in poetry, where she reflects on themes of silence, freedom, and love. Her published works, including Heshtja që vret (2021), Drenicë, zë i lirisë (2022), and Dua t’i puth dashuritë (2024), invite readers into a world where emotions are laid bare, shaped by her personal experiences and her connection to both her homeland and her adopted country. Through her writing, Valbonë Ahmeti captures the essence of resilience, the pursuit of freedom, and the tender nuances of human emotion, making her a significant voice in Albanian literature.
